Beautiful old Thai amulet of the Buddha Phra Rod (the Buddha making the mudra of taking the earth as witness, one of the five classic "Benjaphakee" amulets of Thai Buddhism), this piece was discovered during renovation work on the chedi of Wat Mahawan (Lamphun). This terracotta amulet is about 200 years old, its front part is partly vitrified and on the back we see the fingerprint of the Venerable who made it so long ago.
Ancient amulets of the Phra Rod Buddha are considered classic pieces highly respected by collectors, they are known to attract fortune to those who wear them with respect.
