Charming Thai amulet Phra Nang Phaya from Wat Phra Pathom Chedi.
These Phra Nang Phaya Buddha amulets are made of bronze from a magical temple bell (see photo) from Wat Phra Pathom Chedi. This bell was considered "The voice of Buddha Phra Ruang" and its sound was according to tradition beneficial for the deaf and hard of hearing. This bell was old and cracked, so it was replaced and the metal re-used (along with other metals also from temples) to make these amulets.
In Thailand the metal of temple bells (and the wood and leather of temple drums) are considered to bring charisma, symbolically making the sound of your voice and the sound of your name carry far and wide and thus make you famous and renowned. .
