The amulet in the center of this necklace is made of a tin-like alloy, and bears four Buddhas (three standing Buddhas and one reclining Buddha). These Buddhas are of the ancient Dvaravati style. The Dvaravati civilization of the Mon people developed from the 6th to the 11th centuries between central and northern Thailand and southern Burma.
This necklace is not an antique piece, but we are certain that it is at least 50 years old because it has been in our family since the 80s and was already not new when we got it. The gold-plated brass chain that carries this large pendant also dates from the 80s.
UNIQUE PIECE.
